Harrigans Lane CoLab

What We Do

Harrigans Lane CoLab (HLC) is a not-for-profit arts organisation supporting artists to experiment, collaborate, and create innovative new work. Based in award-winning purpose-built venues set within remote natural bushland on the New South Wales–Queensland border, HLC delivers a diverse program of events, concerts, and residencies that foster deep engagement with place.

We promote interdisciplinary practice across music, visual art, performance, writing, design, architecture, and conservation. We support projects that have a clear connection to the Granite Belt—whether through research, creative development, or public presentation on site.

Our work is grounded in:
• Interdisciplinary collaboration

• Artistic experimentation and risk-taking

• Environmentally sensitive and site-responsive practice

HLC became a registered charity in June 2025 and is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), making donations tax deductible.

Programs

Residencies
HLC offers a residency program for individual artists and small collaborative groups of up to three people. Residents have access to studios, accommodation, and facilities, and are encouraged to draw inspiration from the unique landscape and ecology of the property.

Concerts & Events
Each year, HLC presents a curated concert series in Lagavulin Concert Hall, led by Artistic Directors Vanessa Tomlinson and Erik Griswold. These events showcase innovative contemporary work and provide audiences with distinctive cultural experiences in an exceptional setting.

Place & Environment
Harrigans Lane is a 450-acre property comprising diverse natural environments. In 2023, the majority of the land was placed under the NSW Biodiversity program, reflecting HLC’s long-term commitment to conservation and environmental stewardship. Artists and visitors are invited to explore the site via several kilometres of walking paths that traverse the property’s varied ecosystems.

People
Harrigans Lane CoLab is supported by a Board of Directors: Vanessa Tomlinson, Erik Griswold, Tamarind Taylor and Kym Ward, along with founders, Bruce and Jocelyn Wolfe.

History & Governance
Harrigans Lane CoLab was registered as a charity on 4 June 2025 and holds Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. The organisation was originally established in 2012 as Harrigans Lane Collective by Bruce and Jocelyn Wolfe and continues to operate with the generous financial support of the Wolfe Family Trust.

Our Mission
To advance culture by offering a diverse, interdisciplinary program of events, concerts, and residencies that foster the creation of innovative new works. Set within a unique natural environment, these initiatives enrich the social, cultural, and educational experiences of artists and audiences alike.
